March distribution 2022

Koda’s March 2022 distribution took place on Thursday 17 March. For a full overview of the areas and performance periods included, see the Koda distribution schedule

Distributions for digital services at TV distributors and for the TV channel Xee

After lengthy negotiations, Copydan’s member organisations and Koda have agreed on the distribution of remuneration for selected digital usage of TV, film and series content provided by TV distributors. As a result, Koda has now received payment for the use of music in these contexts, covering the period 2013 to 2020. These funds will be distributed in March and April. In addition, Koda has received payment for the use of music on the TV channel Xee, which will be distributed for the first time in March.

You can read more about the included areas HERE

TV and Radio

The March distribution covers all TV and Radio areas where distributions are made monthly. It covers performances taking place up to and including December 2021. Distributions for 2022 will commence in April. Furthermore, the March distribution includes monthly distributions for music used in commercials on channels such as TV3 +, TV3 Puls, National Geographic and Eurosport 1.

The March distribution also includes revenues generated during the fourth quarter of 2021 on TV2’s regional channels, during all of 2021 on Uptown TV and during the second half of 2021 on Greenlandic radio.

In addition, the March distribution includes an annual distribution for ‘Danish TV productions sold abroad’, an area managed by Koda on behalf of NCB. The payment covers sales in 2020 and is based on statements of sold productions received from DR.

Online

As regards online content use, the March distribution includes quarterly distributions for Netflix, covering Q2 2021, and a semi-annual distribution for TV2 Play covering the second half of 2021. It also includes revenues generated by the VOD service Disney Plus, with which Koda recently entered into an agreement. This first distribution covers performances in 2020; revenues generated in 2021 will follow soon in one of the upcoming distributions.

In addition, the March distribution includes quarterly distributions for music streaming services such as Spotify, YouSee Music (Nuuday) and YouTube. For details on the specific periods and services, see the distribution schedule.

Concert

As regards concerts, the March distribution covers all concerts where the music reporting has been processed and completed and where Koda has received all necessary information from the concert promoter (for example about ticket revenues per concert).

Following the reopening of the Danish venues, the concert scene has begun to pick up again, which is reflected in the concert reporting received by Koda from members and concert organisers. Accordingly, this distribution includes concerts from 2022 which have already been processed and are ready for distribution.
