2022 distributions on TV and Radio
With the April distribution for TV and Radio, Koda begins to include 2022 performances for those TV and Radio areas where distributions are made monthly. These primarily concern performances in January 2022, but in several areas you will find that performances from February 2022 have also already been reported, processed and are ready for distribution.
VOD archive and DR TV at TV distributors
After lengthy negotiations, Koda has now received payment for the use of music in TV, movie and series content offered digitally by TV distributors. Part of this payment covers music usage in films and series that TV distributors have made available via their own VOD archives in the period 2013 to 2020. The remuneration received will be distributed via the area ‘VOD archive – at TV distributors’ on the basis of film and series reporting received from TV distributors on a regular basis throughout the period.
The April distribution also covers the VOD service DRTV, specifically the use of music that occurs when the service is offered via the TV distributors’ digital platforms. The distribution covers the period 2019 to 2020 and will in settlement specifications under the heading ‘DR TV at TV distributors’.
Concerts
As regards concerts, the April distribution covers all concerts where the music reporting has been processed and completed and where Koda has received all necessary information from the concert promoter (for example about ticket revenues per concert).
Furthermore, this distribution includes the annual distribution for concerts held in the Tivoli amusement park in 2021 and for concerts with regional orchestras held in 2021.
Abroad
Koda regularly pays out revenues received from sister societies for the use of Koda members’ music abroad. Koda’s distribution rates reflect the individual societies’ distribution frequency and speed in their various distribution areas.
Prior to the April distribution, Koda has received new quarterly settlements from sister societies in France (SACEM), the USA (BMI), South Korea (KOMKA) and Canada (SOCAN), and a significant part of the Abroad distribution concerns these countries. The distributions cover performances in various areas, primarily in 2021.
