Don’t miss out on money from Koda – register your music in time

You may lose out on Koda money if you do not register your music with Koda before playing or publishing it. If all your music has already been registered through My Koda, you don’t need to do anything right now – just always remember to register your music before playing or publishing it.

If a piece of music is not registered with Koda, we can’t distribute any money to you when it is used.

Right now, Koda has almost DKK 20 million kroner in our keeping that cannot be distributed. This is because many of our members do not register their music in due time, which means that Koda can’t send on the revenues generated by that music.

On digital platforms, Koda can only charge revenues on behalf of our members within a set, limited period of time, so if you do not register your music well in advance, you run the risk of losing part of your Koda revenues altogether.

Register your music 14 days before releasing it

We recommend that you register your music no later than 14 days before its release and before it is played in public. That way, you will receive all that’s due to you when we make distributions, and you make sure that your money will find its way into your account as soon as possible.

What happens if I don’t register my music before releasing it?

As long as your music is not registered with Koda, we will not be able to distribute any revenues for its use.

If you do not register your music in due time, you run the risk of losing part of your Koda money altogether. On digital platforms, Koda can only collect revenues for Koda members within a set, limited period of time. In other areas, our members’ earnings lapse after three years, and we can no longer claim them.
