August distribution 2022
Koda’s August 2022 distribution will take place on Thursday 18 August. For a full overview of the areas and usage periods included, see the Koda distribution schedule.
TV and Radio
The August distribution covers all TV and Radio areas where distributions are made monthly. These primarily concern performances in April and May, but in several areas you will find that performances from June 2022 have also already been reported, processed and are ready for distribution. Furthermore, the August distribution includes monthly distributions for music used in commercials on channels such as TV3+, TV3 Puls, National Geographic and Eurosport 1.
In August, Koda makes its first-ever distribution for the full programming broadcast on TV3 Puls, which has previously been handled by the English collective rights management society PRS. In addition, the August distribution covers the new channels Paramount+ Movies and Paramount+ Series (formerly Paramount) as well as See (formerly ‘Xee’). The distributions for all these channels cover the first half of 2022. Beginning with the next distribution, these channels will be included in Koda’s monthly distributions with distributions made at the same rate as the other monthly paid TV channels.
Within the field of radio, the August distribution covers the final settlement for the performance year 2021 for all DR radio channels. The final settlement includes the channels where, after all the monthly distributions for the year have been made, some undistributed funds remain. These are distributed proportionally based on the works and rightsholders involved in the original distributions.
Online
The August distribution includes the monthly distribution for the music streaming service Nuuday Musik (YouSee Musik and Telmore Musik), covering performances up to and including June 2022. It also includes distributions for DR On Demand 2021, covering the use of music across DR’s digital platforms (in films, series, radio programmes, podcasts etc.).
Concert
As regards concerts, the August distribution covers all concerts where music reporting has been processed and completed and where Koda has received all necessary information from the concert promoter (for example about ticket revenues per concert).
The distribution includes 2021 concerts with DR Ensembles as well as the first distributions from the major festivals held in Denmark in 2022, among these several concerts from the NorthSide Festival.
Films in cinemas and Compensation for local sub-publishing 2021
The August distribution includes distributions for the use of music in films shown in cinemas in 2021. Distributions within this area are usually made earlier in the year but have been postponed in 2022 while Koda awaited data from Statistics Denmark on cinema tickets sold.
In addition, the distribution includes the so-called ‘Compensation for local sub-publishing’. The amounts distributed in this area derive from income from cable TV as well as interactive TV services offered by TV distributors such as YouSee and Stofa.

The August distribution for music used abroad is substantial and includes several of the territories/countries from which Koda typically receives the greatest distributions.
These distributions are listed below, stating some of the main areas and periods included. The information is based on the distribution information submitted by the individual collective rights management societies alongside the distribution amounts and data.
Sweden: TV, Radio, Concerts, Background – second half of 2021, Cinemas – Q4 2021, various streaming and VOD – various periods.
Finland: TV, Radio, Background and Online – primarily Q4 2021
Germany: TV, Radio and Concerts – 2021 and before.
Norway: TV, Radio – Q4 2021, final settlements for TV and Radio 2020/2021, streaming and VOD services – various periods.
USA: TV, Radio and Online – up to and including Q4 2021
Switzerland: TV commercials, TV, Radio – 2021
