TV and Radio
Distributions for 2024 now begin for all TV channels operated by TV2 and DR as well as for DK4. The distributions include music use in the months of January and February that has already been reported by the TV stations and subsequently processed by Koda.
PLEASE NOTE: The preliminary per-minute values for 2024 are negatively affected by a disagreement about tariffs with Nuuday, the company behind products such as YouSee. We will only know the final values when the matter of these tariffs has been settled. Distributions for other channels such as TV3, Kanal 4, Kanal 5 and so on are also affected by this conflict, which means that the 2024 distributions for these channels are postponed. At present, we do not know when we will carry out distributions for 2024 for the aforementioned channels.
As regards radio, the April distribution covers music use in January–February 2024 on DR radio channels and the commercial radio channels (The Voice, NOVA, POP FM, Radio 100 and others).
Online
As regards online music use, the April distribution includes a monthly distribution for the Danish music streaming service Nuuday Musik (YouSee Musik and Telmore Musik) which covers music use in February 2024.
The April distribution also includes a substantial distribution covering all of 2023 for Viaplay. This includes the subscription service (‘Viaplay abonnement’) and pay per view movie rentals via the platform (‘Viaplay filmleje’). Distributions for Viaplay are usually carried out every six months, but due to delays in reporting and processing this distribution covers the entire year.
Concerts
As regards concerts, the April distribution covers all concerts where the music reporting has been processed and completed and where Koda has received all necessary information from the concert promoter (for example about ticket revenues per concert). The April distribution may include distributions for concerts held up to and including March 2024.
Abroad
Koda regularly pays out revenues received from sister societies for the use of Koda members’ music abroad. Koda’s distribution rates reflect the individual societies’ distribution frequency and speed in their various distribution areas.
Prior to this April distribution, Koda has received new quarterly settlements from Koda’s sister societies in USA (ASCAP and BMI), Sweden (STIM), South Korea (KOMKA), Australia (APRA) and Canada (SOCAN), and much of this month’s distributions within this field comes from these countries.
The distributions cover music use in various areas, albeit with a general emphasis on online use, and include periods up to and including Q3 2023.
