Koda’s January 2023 distribution takes place on Thursday 19th of January. For a full overview of the areas and performance periods included, see the Koda distribution schedule
Monthly distributions for TV and Radio
The January distribution covers all TV and Radio areas where distributions are made monthly. It primarily concerns performances in October 2022, but in several areas you will find that performances from November 2022 have also already been reported, processed and are ready for distribution. Furthermore, the January distribution includes monthly distributions for music used in commercials on channels such as TV3 +, TV3 Puls, National Geographic and Eurosport 1.
The distribution also includes an annual distribution for VH1, covering performances in all of 2022.
Concerts
As regards concerts, the January distribution covers all concerts where music reporting has been processed and completed and where Koda has received all necessary information from the concert promoter (for example about ticket revenues per concert). This distribution includes concerts held up to and including Q4 2022.
Abroad
Koda regularly pays out revenues received from sister societies for the use of Koda members’ music abroad. Koda’s distribution rates reflect the individual societies’ distribution frequency and speed in their various distribution areas. On average, the revenues received are distributed as part of Koda’s monthly distributions, meaning that they spend less than one month with Koda before being sent on.
Prior to this January distribution, Koda has received major quarterly or semi-annual settlements from sister societies in Norway (TONO), Sweden and Belgium (SABAM), and much of this month’s distributions within this field comes from these countries. The distributions cover performances in various areas in 2022.
Also included is the annual distribution of amounts received from the Chinese society MVSC and from the South Korean society KOMCA. These primarily cover online and background music use in 2021 and earlier.
