When do we make distributions?

Jingles, theme songs, etc.
- No reductions are applied to theme songs, jingles and background theme music for competitions. Distributions for music of this kind are made using the same values/rates as other mechanical performances.
- Reductions are applied for station IDs (call signs), station sound design, trailers and similar – i.e. for performances of music that has not been created exclusively for a particular show and which is primarily used in between the actual scheduled broadcasts. The reduced value is set at 10% of the relevant TV channel’s usual per-minute value.
- Reductions are applied to music used in commercials. The reduced value is set at 50% of the relevant TV channel’s usual per-minute value.
Reporting
Koda makes distributions on the basis of full (100%) reporting from the regions’ 24-hour channels. No extra distribution is made for features also broadcast on the nationwide TV2 channel (the news reports at 12.10, 17:10, 18:10, 19:30 and 22:20). We have opted for this approach because we believe that the music content on the TV2 programming schedule is very much represented by the 24-hour channels, too.
