Web radio, Instore radio and Web TV

Web radio and instore radio

Koda enters into agreements with web radio providers, thereby allowing them to use music on their platforms. The same goes for instore radios, which are digital music solutions for commercial use in stores, cafes, gyms and the like.

Reporting

  • Web radio and instore radio with reporting

Koda collects and processes full reporting for major web radios, including DR’s web-based radio channels as well as Bauer Media’s Radio Play and other major web radios capable of providing full reporting in a format approved by Koda. Likewise, Koda collects and processes reporting from the largest providers of instore radio, such as Auditive Networks, My Instore Radio and Gymtech

  • Web radio and instore radio without reporting

Many smaller web or in-store radio services play a lot of music, but due to limited consumption they pay out relatively small amounts to Koda. In such cases, receiving and processing reporting would be too costly, and the efforts involved would not be proportionate to the distributions made per work. Accordingly, Koda applies a cut-off point for the amount paid by a service provider before Koda obtains and processes full reporting.

Revenues from web or instore radios without reporting are distributed on the basis of reporting from other representative online areas.

Simulcast

For simulcast, where an existing FM radio channel is transmitted simultaneously via a web platform, the distributions for the web part are typically included in the primary distribution from the relevant FM radio channel.

Web TV

Koda enters into agreements with web TV providers, allowing them to use music in video clips on their website. Such agreements are made with providers who post more video clips than would generally fall within Koda's standard website agreements.

Reporting

Koda processes full reporting from major web TV services if the provider can provide full reporting in a format approved by Koda. In some cases, it is not feasible for the provider to obtain information about the music contained in the video clips, meaning that Koda does not receive reporting on their music use. Typically, this pertains to minor TV productions or embedded video clips from other platforms where no cue sheets are available, meaning that reporting at the level of video titles would not be useful to Koda. In such cases, the revenues generated are distributed on the basis of relevant reporting from other representative online areas.
