Koda's February distribution 2021 took place on Thursday 11 February. For a full overview of the areas and performance periods covered, see the Koda distribution schedule
Monthly distributions for TV and Radio
The February distribution covers performances in November and parts of December 2020 for all TV and radio areas where distributions are made monthly. It also includes monthly distributions for music used in commercials on channels such as TV3 +, TV3 Puls, National Geographic and Eurosport 1.
Beginning with the next distribution in March, Koda will start making distributions for performances taking place in 2021 within the monthly distributed fields of TV and Radio.
Concerts
As far as concerts are concerned, the February 2021 distribution includes all concerts where full reporting has been submitted and processed and where Koda has received all necessary information from the concert promoter (for example about ticket revenues per concert). As has previously been mentioned, the 2020 distribution rates for concerts have been reduced compared to 2019, as the Covid-19 crisis has obviously caused a marked reduction in concert activity.
Abroad
Prior to the February 2021 distribution, Koda has received new quarterly settlements from sister societies in Finland (Teosto), the United Kingdom (PRS) and Poland (Zaiks), meaning that this distribution covers the use of Koda members’ music in these countries. The settlements received cover performances within a range of distribution areas, primarily associated with the first quarter of 2020.
In addition, Koda has received its annual settlement from the Chinese society MCSC, which is also being distributed now. The distribution primarily concerns performances on online media in 2018.
Distribution of shares returned from societies abroad
The February distribution includes distributions of shares returned from Koda’s sister societies abroad. These are funds which have, due to errors in the documentation of rightsholders, initially been paid out to incorrect societies abroad and subsequently returned to Koda in accordance with established practice.
The returned shares have been reviewed and corrected by Koda, and are now distributed in accordance with correct rightsholder documentation.
