A License to Music

KODA collects license fees from the public performances and broadcastings of musical works. We are a private non-profit organisation, with a concession from the Danish Ministry of Culture for the public performance rights since 1935. We distribute the money from public performances and broadcasting to our members - the music creators and the publishers - minus just 10 percent administration costs.

We also collect license fees on behalf of the organisation Gramex which is owned by the record companies . Gramex distributes the public performance fees to the performing artists and recording companies.

How Much Does Music Cost?

The tariff for music depends on several factors: the type of use, the media, the category and the number of potential listeners.
